About Us

The members of the Great Lakes Chapter of the International Association for the Study of Cooperation in Education (IASCE) share an interest in cooperative learning: methods of organizing small groups in which students work together to learn.

All of our members do not use the same methods or even agree with each other on the merits of different techniques and underlying philosophies. This is what makes GLACIE such a dynamic, stimulating movement to be involved in: the feeling that we are evolving new ways of looking at teaching and learning while we, as teachers, learn to cooperate with and learn from each other.
